Today was the first performance for our Kids Unlimited dancers at the studio. It was our annual Showgroup Show. It is held at the dance studio and this year we had 2 shows and the parents sold taco plates in between the shows. (they were fabulous) The show consisted of 25 dances, tap, lyrical, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop. The dancers did a great job. Way to kick off the 2010 Competition Season!!

Look who got a hair cut today. Mikaela loved going to Cool Cuts 4 Kids to get her hair trimmed. She gets to sit in a toy car, watch a movie and gets a pop pop. This place is great.

January 28

I tired a new recipe for dinner tonight. I get emails from Kraft Foods and they always have recipes that sound delicious, so I tried one of their BBQ pork chop recipes. Matt and I cooked it together which was nice while Mikaela played in the den. We then sat at the table and enjoyed our dinner together. Matt and I decided that a few things could be changed with the recipe but we are definately going to try it again.

This is a new application that Matt and I have on our iPhone that we
love. It is called Words With Friends. It is basically a crossword
game that you play against family, friends or a stranger. Currently
we both usually have games going against each other, Andy, Rachael and
Matt's mom. It is a great ap to have if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch. (or even if you are thinking about getting the new iPad that was unveiled today by Apple.

This is a picture looking at Matt's screen against me.

THREE THINGS ABOUT BODIE:
1. Whenever you tell him to get on his rug, he will run from wherever he is do a circle then sit on his rug.
2. He enjoys relaxing in "his" chiar.
3. Loves to eat ice.

Today was the first day of the Spring 2010 semester at CSULB. I have been blessed to have taught here at CSULB since Spring 2005. I have taught 4 different levels of jazz in the past 5 years, but this semester I am teaching a section of Beginning Jazz, a section of Intermediate/Advanced Jazz along with section of Advanced Jazz. Every semester begins and I have an overwellming feeling, a feeling that reminds me how blessed I am to be able to share my passion of dance with others. I am so thankful for my job at CSULB. (thanks Andy Vaca).

January 23

It was BUSY day for me. Started the morning with breakfast at Pop's, then went over to Brenda's house to help Gail, Cheryl, and her how to work the Cricut machines. These woman are the mom's of my dear friends, Jill, Leslie, and Jamie. I spent an hour playing and teaching them, then I headed to meet Matt's parents at their house to go wedding dress shopping with Wendy (Matt's sister). We went to Jinny's Bridal, had lunch at Islands, then went on to Alfred Angelo's. (I think she found THE ONE at Jinny's) Ryann then picked me up and we headed over to the Weiss house to get ready to celebrate Lisa's birthday. Matt meet up with me here for the rest of the evening. We went to PF Chang's at the Irvine Spectrum for some yummy food and great company (Rachael, Andy, Ryann, Jeremy, Cindy, Sean, Lisa, Jason, Matt and I). Matt and I had another birthday party to go to in Claremount so we left and end our night at Piano Piano, a dueling piano bar. It was a long, hectic day but I was surrounded by wonderful people.

While this was all going on Mikaela stayed at Grammy and Pa's house. She had a great time making cupcakes and playing.
This was Mikaela telling Auntie, "Peace out, going to cool (school)."

Wishing Lisa a Happy Birthday!!

January 20

Today was day 3 of our rainy weather in California and man let me tell you we have not seen rain like this in a LONG time. There was even a tornado in the Huntington Beach-Seal Beach area. A firefighter friend of mine caught an amazing picture of it. Once Matt and Mikaela got home we head to Bob's Big Boy for dinner. Mikaela really likes to see Bob. Bob's Big Boy opened in October of 2009 where the old Johnny's Broiler use to be. Johnny's Broiler was a landmark car hop of the 60's and 70's but slowly died. They used the restaurant for many movies, one for example was License to Drive. My mom took my best friend and I when we were in elementary school to watch the movie being made and we got autographs from Corey Feldman and Cory Haim. Then Johnny's turned into a used car lot before it got bulldozed. There were many controversies over the bulldozing and Bob's Big Boy came to the rescue to preserve the old location of Johnny's Broiler. As a kid I can remember going to Bob's with my mom and dad (where the Coco's is on Florence) and getting the Hot Fudge Ice Cream Cake fro dessert, now I am taking my own daughter there, so neat. This was on the big sign that they preserved, this is Johnny.

January 19

Once again it's Tuesday and I find myself in the office in front of the computer working. No complants, I love to play on the computer and I am trying to get organized for work that starts Monday, January 25th at CSULB and also preparing for my night at the studio. I also needed to fill out my ballot for the 16th Annuarl Screen Actors Guild Awards.
I have been a member of S.A.G since 2002. I was qualified to become a S.A.G member after doing a TV show called Inside Swartz for Clippers after that the ball started rolling and I was very fortunity to work with an agent that was wonderful and kept me busy. I was an extra in commercials such as Coca Cola, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Dave and Busters, Burger King, Curtit City, Miller Lite, ING, Pace Salsa, Adias, Fox Sports, Rolling Rock, Captain Morgan's, Imodium AD. I was even a double for a Stair Master Commercial. I have not worked in a long time on any commercials but I am still a memeber of S.A.G and pay my dues every 6 months. This is why I get to vote for the awards. The other perk is that they send me movies in the mail. This year I have recieved: Precious, Inglourious Bastards, Up In The Air, and An Education.

January 17

Today was a rainy day in Pimso Beach. We spent the morning in Jill and Bill's, my in-laws, trailer then went to the outlet shops 1 exit up on the freeway from PVC. Mikaela got some new clothes at Carters for summer and I bought some stuff from Harry & David's. We went to Mo's downtown for lunch then came home for naptime. Matt and I played Words with Friends while listened to some Jack Johnson in our room and Mikaela napped. This was the view from our window above our heads in bed. As interesting as it may seem camping was so relaxing and peaceful in the rain. To sit in the trailer while the rain hit the roof was a neat experience.

January 14

Today Mikaela and I went up to Stevenson Ranch to visit the Weistein's, Gina, Bryan, Cameron, and Cole. Gina and I met our first year on Clippers Spirit Dance Team back in 2001. (wow, Gina have we really known each other that long?) We built a wonderful friendship from the first day we met and have remained good friends since then. We had a great day catching up, laughing and watching the kids dance and play. Thanks for a great day Gina, Mikaela and I had a blast.

So Tuesday's are my studio night and I usually spend Tuesday afternoons preparing for a night of teaching dance (work). This means I hunt for music on my favorite music source iTunes as well as choreograph. I love to buy new music, in fact there are 2,306 items, 40 playlist, 5.9 days worth of music, and 10.04 GB of stuff on my iTunes.

Today I took my little one, Mikaela, with me to the dentist. She did GREAT. She even let Lisa my hygienist count her teeth. She was very excited to get a new tooth brush that had Donkey on it from Shrek. She was one happy little girl leaving the dentist office, which is saying A LOT if you ask me. Oh by the way NO CAVITIES for me!! :)

January 9

Matt worked out of town all week and came home tonight to a very happy little girl that was glad to have her daddy home. She was so excited she was yelling from the front door, "Daddy's home, daddy's home, mommy daddy's home." She gave him lots of hugs and kisses when he came in. I was in the middle of cooking dinner so they sat on the kitchen floor and Mikaela told her daddy all about her Disneyland trip. Glad to have you home honey, we sure missed you.

January 8

Mikaela and I went to Disneyland, just the 2 of us girls. We got there at about 1030am and left at 730pm. It was the longest day Mikaela has ever spent at Disneyland and we had a blast. We watched the Marching Band in front of the Castle with Mickey and Friends, rode Dumbo, King Aurthur's Carrousel, Autopia, It's A Small World, Monster Inc and the Zephyr (rockets) for the first time, played in Toon Town, watched the Celebrate Parade and the Pixar Parade, and Mikaela got to take her picture with Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Cinderella. We had a great day it was definitely not hard to take a picture today.
