Sledding for the first time by herself, wow what a big girl. She might not look like she liked it, but she did. Once she got to the bottom it was "AGAIN!!!"

Snow ball fight!!! We came up to Big Bear for 3 nights with 4 other families, the Law's, Patterson's, Kephart's, and Scebba's. I love this picture and how clear her face is and how blue her eyes are.

Today is Mikaela's wonderful babysitter, Auntie Lorraine's birthday. We stopped at CVS on the way to her house this moning and pick up some flowers and balloons for her.

We went over to the Barela's house tonight to celebrate Paula's birthday. We ate dinner and had delicious chocolate cake from Hoff's Hut. Happy Birthday Paula!!

Way to go SFS Center for the Performing Arts!!! We received Top Studio of the day today at That's Dancin' competition. This is our 7th consecutive year receiving this award, it once again was a wonderful dance day for the SFS dancers. Small side note: My darling hubby proposed to me 6 years ago on this day. I love you honey!

February 20

One of my goals for 2009 was to put up closet doors in our office. Well, it may be 2010 but it happened. To give us credit we did order them in 2009, it just took some time to get them up. My wonderful hubby had to fix some things before installing them. We installed them together and they look beautiful. It only took us almost 5 years to get closet doors up in this room, but it is DONE!

February 19

A girl can never have too many shoes! :) Mikaela lined up her Princesses high heels today and I couldn't resist taking a picture. Then she told me she wanted to be in the picture, climbed up on the couch and said "TADA" She then ran to get her camera so she could take a picture of her shoes.

We met the Law's tonight at Chili's in Long Beach for a fundraiser for Rachael's school, LB Poly. Lucas and Mikaela are always so happy and excited to see each other. After dinner they felt they needed there own table. They make us all laugh.

Today is my wonderful dad's birthday. Not only is he one of the most important men in my life he is an amazing, caring, inspirations, loving man. I count my blessing to have such a wonderful dad and roll model. He has taught me many lessons in my life, one honesty. I love you dad, hope you had a great birthday.

Today is the day I am official making my 2010 list of accomplishments public. I have been working on it (slowly) since the beginning of the year and it is finally complete. I am ready to start attacking my list and I can already mark off a few items. I got this challenge last year from my friend Gina and I found it very self-rewarding to mark things off my list. I had 32 things on my list last year and now 33 this year. I choose the number to correlate with how old I will be in that year. I am ready for new challenges and adventures, it's time to get things done and become a better mommy, wife, daughter, friend, dance teacher.

Check back in on how I am doing, the list will be posted on the sidebar to the right all year and I will change the color of items I have accomplished.

Happy President's Day!!

We went to dinner tonight at BJ's Pizza in Downey and when Mikaela got her kids menu with crayons it was a little different than normal, the crayons were triangle shapped so they would not roll off the table. I thought this was a neat invention.

This weekend was our first competition for the SFS Kids Unlimited dancers. It was a wonderful weekend at the Rainbow Connection Dance Competition. We walked away with 9 high golds, 13 platinums, 2 double platinums, and 12 overall awards. Way to go SFS dancers, your teachers are very proud of you.

February 12

I had a wonderful surprise waiting this morning when I woke up, ROSES!!! Mikaela called me from her room as she usually does in the morning when she wakes up and I went and got her. I told her daddy was home and to go ask him what was for breakfast, so she tip toed into our bedroom climbed onto the bed. We all sat there talking a while till Mikaela wanted to go in the other room. She took off to go get her princess backpack and wheeled into her room. She then grabbed my hand and told me "big flowers out dare mommy, I show you, mere"! (dare meaning there and mere meaning come here) It was a perfect way to start the morning. :)

I love ya Matt and Mikaela, you are both my world. Just a small note, I have not got Roses from Matt since my 25th birthday, very surprised.

Mikaela brought home a new backpack last night that Grammy bought her. She was very happy today when she realized she had on her princess shirt and it matched her backpack. She LOVES the Disney princesses.

It was cold this morning, she had to put on her gloves. Oh and the thing around her neck is my lunch bag, she insist on helping me. Love this kid!!!

How can these 26 items cost $73.63????????? (and that was with a $10.02 savings)

The grocery store and I don't get along well. It's always the same story, every time I come home from grocery shopping we still have nothing to eat in the house. I do have to say though, in this trip to Albertsons I did come home with meat for taco soup on Wednesday night and chicken breast for Thursday night. Also some of the other necessities, milk, apples, peanut butter and the Pillsbury cake mix, that's necessity isn't it??

It is Super Bowl Sunday and our best friends the Law's came over to hang out. We watched the Super Bowl and cheered for the Saints but more importantly we watched our kids play and have fun together. Our kids, Mikaela and Lucas are 3 days apart (August 13th and 16th) They are quite fun to watch and they enjoy each other very much. They have lots of fun playing and making a mess. They truly are BEST BUDDIES!!

February 6

Today we went to Disneyland because the SFS Center for the Performing Arts, Kids Unlimited Showgroup danced at the Carnation Plaza. We have been dancing there for many many years, (since I was in high school) and it now happens every year the first weekend of February. We lucked out because it did not rain till about 4pm. Mikaela was very happy to ride the Carrousel with ChiChi and Aunt Ryann. She then spent the afternoon with Matt while I was back stage with the girls. It was a fun day.

February 5

This is Mikaela and my rainy day project today, Play-Doh. She had lots of fun rolling it, making shapes, numbers, and other cut outs.

February 4

So happy Matt is home tonight. We had a great dinner at the table all of us talking, eating and saying cheers to family. Bath time is one of Mikaela's favorites. She especially likes the part right before she gets in the bath when she runs around the house naked and calls out "naked butt" I love her in her little hoody towels, wish I would have caught the back of this one with the curly monkey tail.

February 3

Chapman started back this week and I am once again teaching. :) I have a jazz class for the non-majors. This is my second semester teaching at Chapman and I am very happy to be back.

February 2

So this is my tired, sleeping little girl. When Matt works out of town, I can't pick her up from Grammy and Pa's till almost 10pm, so she is tired and ready for bed when we get home. Tonight she said she need everything with her in her bed. So total in her crib is: 3 bears (one from grandma's house and the 2 others were baby gifts), a Shamu, her night light, 2 blankets and her blankie that use to be her sleep sack- pink leopard print, her pillow, glow worm (not seen) and yes Mikaela and her paci. Yes I know she is almost 2 1/2 and sleeps with a paci, working on it :)

I have to count my blessing with Mikaela and her sleeping. She is a fabulous sleeper and has been since she was 1-2 months old. I am very thankful for this. I love to watch her sleep, does this feeling ever change? I am sure not.

Here's a look at our family calendar for the month of February, the shortest month of the year. Weekends in February are already full with dance competitions for the first 3 of them, then a weekend in Big Bear with friends. We have some birthday's to celebrate: Papa, Grammy, Amy and Jamie. And how could we forget Valentine's Day on the 14th.
